SDAPA Density Symposium: "Making Density Work"
October 10, 2008
Higher densities are an important tool for smart growth and sustainability. But, as every planner knows, resident's fears of traffic gridlock, parking meltdown and destruction of community character can derail or compromise even modest plans and projects. Still, with high gas prices and changing attitudes towards urban living, the attractiveness of denser urban environments is on the rise. Is density our destiny? How can planners harness density to improve transit, enhance livability and create better places?
Join us this Friday at the beautiful Liberty Station Event Center Main Hall for a stimulating exploration of this basic but often misunderstood planning tool. The program includes a continental breakfast and gourmet box lunch.
Six CM credits approved!
