      SDAPA Election Results - Congratulations to Dan Wery, SDAPA Section Director-Elect - AND - Richard Dial, SDAPA Treasurer. They received the most votes in the election. This was a competitive race with several fine candidates.       AICP Exam Training - February 20, 2010 - The San Diego APA section is proud to offer the upcoming AICP training for candidates who wish to take the exam in May or November 2010. This training is offered only once a year. Due limited seating capacity early registration until January 25th will be open to APA members only. Non-APA members may register after January 25th. Coffee and snacks will be available.

      AICP Exam Scholarships - June 22, 2010 - APA is offering limited scholarships to reduce the cost of the AICP exam in 2010. The goal is to help those who could not otherwise take the exam due to the cost. The reduced fees are: . First time AICP applicants - $125 (combined $60 application and $65 exam fee) . Previously approved AICP applicants - $65 (exam fee only). To apply for the reduced fees, send a brief letter addressed to Stan Donn, AICP, SDAPA Professional Development Chair, care of Elisa Marrone, AICP, SDAPA Membership Chair, explaining the financial hardship which necessitates the request and any other conditions or circumstances to support your request.       Ethics & Law Training Credits Still Pending - National APA is still reviewing our application for CM credits and we should have a response by the end of the year. We will post the announcement here and send out an e-mail blast as soon as we get the approval. Also, please see following announcement.  
        
      Worried About Finishing Your CM Requirements by December 31, 2009? - As of October 31, 2009, 40% of the Chapter's AICP and FAICP members had logged in 32 hours or more of CM credits. We are proud of the effort and commitment this represents. However, 21% had logged no hours. If you're part of the group that is missing a significant amount of your CM training, please download the following information.

      Planning Journal Submissions Welcome - SDAPA is interested in the expertise and insight of our fellow local planners. We encourage you to contribute to our quarterly planning journal/newsletter to generate discussion and share knowledge regarding planning related items. Submissions may include articles, short essays, program reviews, bulleted sidebars, legislative updates, announcements, photos/images, etc. Letters to the editor are also welcome. Please contact our Newsletter Editor, Asha Saunders, at saundersar at gmail.com for more information or to make submissions. We look forward to hearing from you!
