      Call for Speakers: "The Intersection of Sustainability & Historic Preservation" - The Urban Planning & Development (UPD) professional certificate program at UC San Diego Extension is searching for panelists for a forthcoming professional development seminar on the alignment and challenges of the co-application of historic preservation and sustainability principles. Presentations on current projects, programs, and policies associated with sustainability, preservation, material conservation, rehabilitation, and adaptive reuse from planners, architects, historic preservationists, building contractors, and sustainability specialists will be accepted for this workshop.             Planning Journal Submissions Welcome - SDAPA is interested in the expertise and insight of our fellow local planners. We encourage you to contribute to our quarterly planning journal/newsletter to generate discussion and share knowledge regarding planning related items. Submissions may include articles, short essays, program reviews, bulleted sidebars, legislative updates, announcements, photos/images, etc. Letters to the editor are also welcome.
